ABUJA, NIGERIA, 3 April 2026 (NPA) — The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed allegations by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that it is meddling in the party’s affairs, insisting that the ADC is solely responsible for its internal crisis.

In a statement on Thursday, APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka described the ADC as “an assembly of Nigeria’s most confused and desperate politicians” and accused its leaders of peddling conspiracy theories about the ruling party. He said the ADC “never was” a viable political platform, but rather a self‑destructive contraption now unravelling in instalments.

Morka argued that the factional leadership under David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola parachuted into the party “like thoughtless and planless commandos,” hijacking its structures in violation of constitutional stipulations on succession and disregarding the rule of law. He said this reckless misadventure set the ADC on a collision course with destiny.

He noted that the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) decision to de‑recognise the Mark‑led executives was valid in law, justified in fact, and consistent with democratic practice. According to him, it was the direct consequence of the ADC’s own actions.

“It is highly escapist and irresponsible for the ADC to blame the APC for its internal woes, of which they are the sole architects,” Morka said. He added that the ADC’s unwillingness to take responsibility for its failure to follow due process and manage its affairs rendered it unfit to be taken seriously. “A party that cannot fix itself cannot possibly fix Nigeria,” he declared.

The APC maintained that the ADC has nothing to offer Nigerians beyond “senseless attacks” against the ruling party, describing such attacks as its cardinal commitment and manifesto. Morka stressed that the APC and President Bola Tinubu remain focused on delivering the Renewed Hope Agenda and strengthening democratic institutions for peace, unity and prosperity.
