JAMB, WAEC introduce ₦4,000 O’Level verification, partner Dangote Foundation

ABUJA, Nigeria (NPA) — The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a new process aimed at simplifying the verification of West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) O’Level results for candidates seeking admission into higher institutions.

Under the new arrangement, which JAMB said was agreed upon in partnership with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), candidates will pay a one-time fee of ₦4,000 to verify their WASSCE O’Level results through the examination board.

JAMB said the verified result would subsequently be shared with the relevant institution for admission and screening purposes without any additional verification charge.

In a service improvement notification issued on Tuesday, the Board said the initiative was designed to reduce costs and stress for candidates while simplifying the admission process.

“JAMB and WAEC have agreed on a simplified process for verifying WASSCE O’Level results,” the Board said.

“Candidates will pay ₦4,000 once to verify their results through JAMB. The verified result will then be shared with the relevant institution for admission and screening, with no additional verification charge.”

JAMB described the development as a step towards reducing costs, simplifying the admission process and placing candidates at the centre of its service delivery.

Meanwhile, the Board said it was also expanding its partnerships as part of efforts to create more opportunities and improve support for candidates and the education sector.

JAMB Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, recently received representatives of the Aliko Dangote Foundation for discussions on possible areas of collaboration and initiatives that could support candidates and contribute to the development of education in Nigeria.

The engagement focused on identifying opportunities for strategic partnerships that could create greater value for candidates and other stakeholders in the education sector.

“As JAMB continues to build meaningful partnerships, the focus remains on identifying opportunities that create greater value for the people we serve,” the Board said.
