LASU extends 2025/2026 second-semester academic calendar by one week

LAGOS, Nigeria (NPA) — Lagos State University (LASU) has announced a one-week extension of its approved academic calendar for the 2025/2026 academic session second semester.

The approval was granted by the Vice-Chancellor, Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, on behalf of the University Senate.

According to a notice issued by the institution, the extension became necessary to allow for the completion of outstanding academic activities and proper coordination of academic and administrative processes for the second semester.

Under the revised schedule, resumption, registration and lectures for both new and returning students will now run from Monday, March 2 to Friday, May 29, 2026, spanning 13 weeks.

The university stated that second-semester examinations will commence from Monday, June 1 to Friday, June 26, 2026.

Grading and uploading of results are scheduled to take place between Monday, June 29 and Friday, July 10, 2026.

Departmental and faculty consideration of results, uploading of corrections and ICT processing of results will hold from Monday, July 13 to Friday, July 17, 2026.

According to the revised calendar, collation of results and the Senate meeting for consideration and approval of results will take place from Monday, July 20, to Friday, July 24, 2026.

The university further disclosed that the end-of-session break will commence on Monday, July 27, 2026.

LASU added that the sessional break will now run from Monday, July 27, to Friday, October 23, 2026, while the 2026/2027 academic session is expected to commence on Monday, October 26, 2026.

The institution advised students, staff and members of the university community to take note of the adjustments and comply accordingly.
