JUST IN: Obasa congratulates Oshinowo on appointment as Lagos Assembly Clerk

LAGOS, Nigeria (NPA) — Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa has congratulated Mrs Adenike Abolanle Oshinowo on her appointment and swearing-in as the new Clerk of the House.
In a statement issued on Monday, Obasa described Oshinowo as a distinguished legal practitioner, accomplished legislative draftsman and seasoned public administrator whose wealth of experience would further strengthen the Assembly’s operations.
According to the Speaker, Oshinowo brings more than two decades of public service experience, having served in key positions within the Ministry of Justice, the Lagos State House of Assembly Service Commission and the Assembly.
He said her career reflects dedication, competence and an unwavering commitment to strengthening governance and democratic institutions.
Obasa also noted that Oshinowo had benefited from advanced professional training, including programmes at Harvard Business School, which he said had further equipped her for leadership responsibilities.
“I am confident that her wealth of experience, professionalism and vision will further enhance the efficiency, effectiveness and legislative excellence for which the Lagos State House of Assembly is known,” he said.
The Speaker urged members of staff and management of the Assembly to extend their full cooperation and support to the new Clerk as she assumes office.
“Together, we must continue to build a stronger institution in service to the people of Lagos State,” he added.
Obasa also expressed appreciation to the outgoing Clerk, Barr. Olalekan Biliaminu Onafeko, for his years of service and contributions to the growth of the Assembly.
He commended Onafeko for his dedication, reforms and commitment to strengthening the legislature during his tenure.
The Speaker wished Oshinowo a successful and impactful tenure as Clerk of the House.
