Governor Buni Approves Scholarships and Laptops for 148 Law Graduates
DAMATURU, NIGERIA (NPA) – Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has approved scholarships for 148 indigenes admitted to the Nigerian Law School for the 2026 academic session.
The announcement was made by the State Commissioner for Higher Education, Science and Technology, Professor Bello Kawuwa, following a joint meeting of the Yobe State Scholarships Board convened to oversee the disbursement of funds. Each beneficiary will receive a scholarship grant of ₦475,000 and a laptop to support their studies.
According to Yusuf Ali, Focal Person for Digital and Strategic Communications in the governor’s office, this latest intervention brings the total number of law graduates sponsored by the Buni administration since 2020 to 719. In addition, 11 students have been granted financial support to resit their examinations at the Nigerian Law School.
The initiative forms part of Yobe State’s education-focused policies aimed at expanding access to higher education, equipping young people with competitive skills, and fostering the overall development of the state.
