APGA launches nationwide membership registration and revalidation

AWKA, NIGERIA (NPA): The Governor of Anambra State, Charles Soludo, has announced the commencement of a nationwide membership registration and revalidation exercise for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), in line with Nigeria’s updated electoral laws.
In a statement issued on March 2, 2026, Governor Soludo said: “I am proud to announce that APGA has officially recommenced its membership registration and revalidation exercise, in line with the Electoral Act. My wife, Dr. Nonye, and I led by example as the first to undergo the process, revalidating our membership of Nigeria’s foremost progressive party. This digital transformation is a game-changer, setting APGA apart as a pioneer in Nigerian politics. We are not just updating our records; we are building a robust, credible party structure.”
The governor urged party members to take advantage of the ongoing exercise, emphasizing that the process is seamless and accessible.
Highlighting the integration of the National Identification Number (NIN) into the registration system, Soludo noted: “With NIN integration, as stipulated by the new Electoral Act, we are ensuring the integrity of our membership database. I encourage all APGA members to revalidate their membership and invite new members to join the movement. The registration process has been simplified to ensure no one is left behind.”
Political parties across Nigeria, Africa’s largest democracy, are intensifying preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections. The move follows the release of an adjusted timetable by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), covering party primaries and elections for governors, legislators, and the presidency.
