Akwa Ibom governor approves appointment letters for 4,000 civil service recruits

UYO, Nigeria (NPA) — Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has received the report of the recently concluded civil service recruitment exercise and approved the immediate issuance of appointment letters to 4,000 successful applicants.

The appointments are to take effect from October 1, 2026, with the successful applicants expected to resume work on October 2.

The governor also approved the recruitment of an additional 2,000 teachers by the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) to support the state’s Model Primary Schools.

“I also approved the recruitment of an additional 2,000 teachers by the State Universal Basic Education Board to support our Model Primary Schools,” Eno said.

He commended the Akwa Ibom State Civil Service Commission and other officials involved in the recruitment exercise, describing the process as transparent and one that gave applicants a fair opportunity to succeed.

The governor said the recruitment would create employment opportunities for residents while strengthening the operational capacity and service delivery of the state’s civil service.
