Progressive Governors’ Forum Chairman Uzodimma congratulates Oyebanji

OWERRI, Nigeria (NPA) — Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Hope Uzodimma, has congratulated Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji on his victory in Saturday’s governorship election, describing it as a well-deserved endorsement of his leadership by the people of the state.

In a statement issued on Monday, Uzodimma said the outcome of the election reflected the confidence, trust and appreciation Ekiti residents have for Oyebanji’s administration and its achievements.

“This resounding mandate is a clear expression of the confidence, trust and appreciation the people have for his leadership and the positive impact of his administration,” he said.

The Imo governor noted that the result was further evidence of the growing strength of Nigeria’s democracy, stressing that voters were increasingly rewarding leaders who deliver good governance and tangible results.

“Beyond the victory itself, the outcome is a strong indication that our democracy is growing stronger, as Nigerians continue to support leaders who deliver results and uphold good governance,” he added.

Uzodimma also linked the victory to growing public confidence in the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“This victory also reflects the growing confidence in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the positive impact of the Renewed Hope Agenda, which continues to drive meaningful reforms and sustainable development across the country,” he said.

He wished Oyebanji wisdom, strength and divine guidance as he begins a second term in office.

Newpost Africa reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Oyebanji the winner of the election after he secured 319,224 votes.

According to the electoral body, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled 40,543 votes, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate garnered 12,872 votes.
