Troops Rescue Kidnapped Victim, Recover ₦8 Million Ransom in Qua’an Pan

PLATEAU, Nigeria (NPA) — Troops of Operation Enduring Peace, deployed in Sector 9 Shendam, have successfully rescued a kidnapped victim and recovered ₦8 million ransom during a coordinated operation in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State. The operation, conducted on Saturday, April 25, 2026, underscores the military’s commitment to dismantling criminal networks and protecting citizens within the Joint Operations Area.

According to a statement issued by Captain Chinonso Polycarp Oteh, Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force Operation Enduring Peace, the rescue followed the abduction of a female victim from Bauna in Shendam LGA on April 19. Rigorous intelligence gathering and interrogation of an arrested suspect who confessed to the crime enabled troops to locate the victim at Padam Forest in Qua’an Pan, where she was rescued.

The operation also led to the recovery of the ₦8 million ransom previously paid by the victim’s family. After the rescue, the victim underwent medical checks at Shendam General Hospital before being reunited with her family. The recovered ransom was returned to them.

Troops have since launched exploitation operations across suspected hideouts in Qua’an Pan and Shendam LGAs to apprehend other members of the syndicate.
