JUST IN: Father’s Day: Imo governor hails fathers as pillars of society

OWERRI, Nigeria (NPA) — Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has congratulated fathers in the state, across Nigeria, and around the world on the occasion of the 2026 International Father’s Day celebration.
In a statement personally issued on Sunday, Uzodimma commended fathers for their unwavering commitment to their families and society, describing them as pillars of strength, moral guidance, and stability.
The governor said fathers play a critical role in driving societal growth and progress while nurturing future generations with values that inspire hope, discipline, and excellence.
“On this 2026 International Father’s Day, I warmly felicitate with our fathers in Imo State, across Nigeria, and around the world,” he said.
“Through their steadfast dedication to their roles and responsibilities as fathers, they have remained pillars of strength, moral guidance, and stability, driving the growth and progress of society while nurturing future generations with values that inspire hope and excellence.”
Uzodimma also prayed for divine guidance, good health, and renewed strength for fathers as they continue to contribute to the development of their families, communities, and the nation.
“As we honour and celebrate our fathers today, I pray that God Almighty grants them continued strength, wisdom, good health, and the grace to sustain their invaluable contributions to humanity,” he added.
