SOKOTO, Nigeria (NPA) — Sokoto State Governor, Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, has announced the approval of major infrastructure and public service projects aimed at improving transportation, environmental management and government operations across the state.
The approvals were granted during the latest meeting of the State Executive Council held at the Government House in Sokoto.
According to the governor, the projects form part of his administration’s commitment to strengthening infrastructure, enhancing service delivery and promoting sustainable development in the state.
Among the projects approved by the council is the rehabilitation of 36 roads damaged by newly developed potholes in different parts of the state.
The council also approved the renovation of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camp, upgrade works at the Protocol Terminal of Sultan Abubakar III International Airport, and the rehabilitation of the International Conference Centre in Kasarawa.
In addition, the government approved the procurement of buses and environmental equipment to improve public transportation services and support government operations.
The governor said the council equally endorsed strategic interventions aimed at supporting infrastructure financing and ensuring effective implementation of the 2026 budget.
“These decisions reflect our administration’s unwavering commitment to sustainable development, prudent management of resources, and improving the welfare of the people of Sokoto State,” Aliyu stated.
He assured residents that his administration would continue to implement projects and policies capable of positively impacting the lives of citizens across all sectors of the state economy.
